Ram Bishu, PhD, CPE, CQM, CSSBB

Dr. Ram R. Bishu is a Principal Consultant at JFAssociates, Inc. based in the Lincoln, Nebraska area and is Professor and Chairman for the Graduate committee of Industrial Engineering Department at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He has a B.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT Madras, India, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from State University of New York at Buffalo, respectively. He also holds a M.B.A. degree from AIMA, India. He is a certified six sigma black belt and a certified professional ergonomist. Dr. Bishu has successfully implemented a wide range of projects, most of which have resulted in publications at national or international level and significant savings for companies. He is an author/coauthor of over 200 technical publications including 50 journal papers and 5 books. His publications have covered topics such as Quality and Manufacturing Systems, Cognitive Ergonomics, and Physical Ergonomics. He is internationally recognized for his research and consultation in the areas of Quality Engineering, Occupational Ergonomics, Safety Engineering, and classical Industrial Engineering. Dr. Bishu has provided comprehensive quality engineering and industrial engineering services to various automotive and electronic manufacturing industries. He has provided training on Six Sigma tools and methodologies to Black Belts, Green Belts, business teams and business leaders. Dr. Bishu has developed digital solution strategies, including front end web site design, for E-Commerce clients. He has worked with ERP systems (SAP and Generic), that includes complete SAP related front-end ‘business processes development’, ‘solution development’ and ‘business process reengineering’ experience and configuration work. Dr. Bishu is the chair person of the education committee and a member of Executive Board of Section 1302, Nebraska Chapter, American Society of Quality Control from 2004. He was the program chair of the Educator’s Technical Group of Human Factors and Ergonomic Society, 2003-2004. In 2002-2003, he was the president of the International Society of Occupational Ergonomics and Safety.
